About the project

AEG Haustechnik is one of the pioneers in the application of electricity and is based in Nuremberg.

Task:
Development of a planning program for floor temperature control systems for the AEG Haustechnik brand.

Realization:
The AEG Thermo Floor Planner is a planning program for the AEG floor temperature control system and was first developed by MBC in 2000.

For almost 15 years, the program has provided loyal service and supported the craftsman in planning heating mats in bathrooms and other rooms. In order to meet today’s requirements, MBC implemented the new development of the thermal floor planner this year. This includes a modern design and the use of current web technologies such as JavaScript and html5.

The simple user guidance was also implemented with great care in the new development. MBC has implemented numerous new functions and improvements.

STEP 1: ROOM DIMENSION
The user can choose between three different floor plans. By simply dragging the walls and corners, he can dimension his space.

STEP 2: SET UP ROOM
A variety of sanitary facilities enable the installer to complete the bathroom with just a few mouse clicks. Bathtubs and showers are integrated in a wide variety of shapes with rounded corners and slanted edges. Each device can be rotated and dimensioned individually.

STEP 3: CALCULATION
The thermal floor planner calculates several solution variants and outputs the result with the largest heating surface. The user can intervene manually and influence the result by entering additional parameters such as wall distance, mat width and laying direction.

STEP 4: RESULT AND PLAN
All facilities standing on the floor are spared from the mat assignment. Each heating mat is marked with its own color. Directional arrows indicate where the mat must be folded. The occupied heating surface and a legend with the mats used are displayed. The installation plan is printable and helps the installer on site during installation.

STEP 5: PARTS LIST
All items that are necessary are automatically determined by the AEG Thermo Floor Planner. Heating mats, heating controllers and accessories appear in the parts list with prices. Additional information such as product photo, product description and technical data sheet can be called up for each article.

The user can also order additional items and enter them in the parts list on request.
